The Max Levine Ensemble!

Monica and I went and checked out a few more galleries, yet nothing really caught our eye. We headed down to the Lower East Side and met up with DanO and Greg Daly who was down from Philly, driving some band around. We met some dude who was super high. He kept calling me "Panda" and Monica "Deep Eyes."

This was some cool wall shit at The Cake Shop (which is where whatever band Greg was with was playing). We also ate falafel from ASHKARA. Never will I eat another falafel as good.
That night we headed down to the second night of Hillstock Fest with Bilmas. Just in the nick of time for The Max Levine Ensemble!

156/365 (June 5th, 2009)

Monica came to visit for a few days!
We went to a bunch of the Chelsea Galleries. My favorite was one of the Gagosian galleries filled with amazing pieces by Yayoi Kusama!

After spending the day in Chelsea, we headed back to my room and napped until Bilmas picked us up. We went to Brooklyn, picked up Konst and headed to Hillstock Fest.

MoMA! Aka The Museum of Modern Art. It ruled a lot.
This chandelier was one of my favorite pieces. It's by Ingo Maurer, and entitled Porca Miseria! Chandelier.

Warhol's infamous Campbell's Soup Cans
I promised Jason I'd take this photo for him, but unfortunately Janine couldn't take an in focus photo of me (!!!) so, she so graciously offered to be my subject instead :)
Sweet Dreams Security!
LOVE! I look happy.

After MoMA, I took the subway (and got kind of lost) to Greenpoint where Dano and Konstantin live. Went to their apartment, went for a walk to Mccarren Park, watched Intolerable Cruelty, Curb Your Enthusiam, ate pasta, drank tea, etc. Good night, and good dudes.

154/365 (June 3rd, 2009)

The night before, Bilmas and Tammy brought me to this amazing bookstore called "Bluestockings" in the Lower East Side. I couldn't spend much time there because Bilmas and I had to head to the Art Brut show, so Melanie and I came back the next day. First thing she did was walk up to their stand full of pins, looked at the first brown one she could find (her fave colour) and then screamed my name! What a great find!

After the bookstore, we rushed over to The Pearl Theatre to see Tennessee William's Vieux Carre. It ruled! I loved the way they set up the stage and their general use of space. A lot of people disagreed, but I thought it was perfect.

After the play, I headed BACK to Bluestockings (I went there at least 15 times after as well), bought a book, and hungout with some folk in Justin's room.
We had a french braiding party...

Then we went to Tomkins Square Park and watched dogs, sat in the grass, and got eaten by mosquitoes.

Later, I ended up finding a ticket to Art Brut, so Bilmas and I went and saw them at the Mercury Lounge and it RULED. They we're hilarious/so British and covered the Ramones!
