Pat's last day in The City!

I brought Katelynn to Times Square. I'm glad she hated it as much as I did!
We went to Central Park for a bit, but didn't have a lot of time there.

We went to a stupidly expensive sushi restaurant with some school kids. The place was called Sushi Samba, and it fused Japanese food with Lebanese food.
Alex was patiently waiting for our table to be ready.

Good show. I don't really listen to Gomez, but it was good to check out the venue. Unfortunately we missed Jason Isabell (Of Drive-By Truckers fame!).

Katelynn came to visit for a few days!

After a long day of shopping/walking the Brooklyn Bridge, we hungout in Justin's room for a bit, and PAT came to visit for the weekend!

Janine, Dale and I headed toward the Lower East Side, and I met up with David and saw X at the Bowery Ballroom. They were awesome, and Billy Zoom was such a creep.

After the show, Bilmas and I grabbed some falafel from Ashkara (Best falafel in NYC, and possibly the world), drove to Brooklyn in hopes to find DanO and also see The Heartbreakers, but unfortunately neither worked out, so we listened to songs from The Muppets soundtrack instead.

149/365 (May 29th, 2009)

Eastern Standard Time.

I'm really bummed/disappointed in myself. Friday was one of my favorite days thus far, yet I didn't document any of it! Ugh! Good thing it was one of my favorites otherwise I would forget it completely without any form of photographic evidence.

It started off with me strolling around Union Square and dog watching/coffee drinking (best combo, try it.) Then I hopped on the Subway to the Bronx, met up with Bilmas and Tammy at H.I.M. Ital on Burke. Got a bunch of vegan deliciousness for $8, drove down all along the coast to the Lower East Side, and ate in the Sarah D Roosevelt park while watching kids play Ultimate Frisbee. This was the day I also fell in love with LES and I've been going back to that area once or twice a day.

After that I walked back to The Village, met up with Dale, Hollie, Janine, Justin, Serein and Alex and headed to The Knitting Factory to see Eastern Standard Time and Mustard Plug. I felt 15, and Janine had the most fun ever.

148/365 (May 28th, 2009)

This post is going to prove just how important it is for me to update everyday. I pretty much only remember what I took photos of and nothing else. Worst memory ever.

Anyways, Tuesday Melanie, Janine, Hollie and I went to the New York Public Library (English majors = book nerds) and it was very grandiose and amazing.

We went to Brooklyn later on that night to see Liz Magnes play at Barge Music. I spent a greater part of the night enjoying the incredible view of Manhattan + the Brooklyn Bridge. Perfectly mixed with some pretty rain and fog!

The show was on a boat (not the NYC water taxi!) and a bunch of people couldn't handle the motion. Liz Magnes was awesome though. I couldn't take photos inside of the boat though (stupid).

147/365 (May 27th, 2009)

I'm officially over a week behind which is TERRIBLE, because I have a really bad memory and have already forgotten a lot of the stuff I've done thus far. Wednesday May 27th was a great day though. I had class in the morning for a bit, followed by a brief visit to Times Square (I hate it there) and then Joe Turner's Come and Gone at the Belasco which was great, but I was super tired and kept wanting to nap the entire time.

After the show, we headed back to Rubin Hall, then Justin and I hungout in a pizza joint, ate greasy pizza and witnessed a small brawl while reading Loraine Hansberry's "Raisin' In The Sun." After that we hopped on the subway and made out way to Brooklyn to see DanO's band play at this really amazing punk loft on 1087 Broadway.

The show was tons of fun, and hangingout with DanO was a blast as always! Death First is playing at Death By Audio this Sunday and I'm pretty stoked to see them again.
